Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of the Alter app (“the app”, “we”, “us”), operated by EM Consulting. By using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Zero tolerance. Alter has no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Content that violates these terms is removed and the user who provided it is permanently ejected.

1. Eligibility

You must be 18 years of age or older to use Alter.

2. Your content

During onboarding you talk with Alter, and from that conversation the app builds a short “Digital Twin” — your values, goals and a summary. Parts of your Twin are shown to other users so they can be matched with you. You are responsible for what you provide.

3. Prohibited content and behaviour

You must not provide, and your Twin must not contain, anything that is or promotes:

hate speech, discrimination, harassment, bullying or threats;
sexual content or solicitation;
violence, self-harm, or illegal activity;
targeting, impersonating or exposing (doxxing) real people;
spam, scams, or commercial solicitation unrelated to genuine networking.

4. Safety controls

Filtering. Every Twin is automatically screened for objectionable content before it enters the matching pool.
Reporting. You can report any match from the match screen, or by email at the address below.
Blocking. You can block any user; you will never be matched with each other again.
Deleting. You can delete your own Twin at any time; it is removed from matching immediately.
Enforcement. We review every report and act within 24 hours by removing the content and ejecting the user who provided it.

5. Termination

We may suspend or permanently remove any user who violates these terms, without notice.

6. Disclaimer

Alter is provided “as is”. Matches are AI-generated suggestions, not guarantees. We are not responsible for interactions between users outside the app.

How we handle your data is described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes

If these terms change, we will update the date at the top of this page.
